Brain tissue donors including sAD patients and cognitively healthy controls were recruited by the University of Washington Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Kaiser Permanente Adult Changes in Thought (ACT) study. Brain tissue was collected from the frontal lobe (dorsolateral prefrontal cortex) of 23 individuals and temporal lobe (middle temporal gyrus) from 16 of the aforementioned 23 individuals.
