This data set was compiled from IPUMS-USA data curated at the University of Minnesota Population Center (https://usa.ipums.org) and all credit belongs to them.<br>To reproduce the data presented in our article (10.1371/journal.pone.0214234), please run the R scripts in sequence. In the course of producing this work, several analyses were conducted that did not end up being used or reported in the article because we considered them ancillary to the main analyses. The lines of code for these are retained in the scripts.
