Cytochrome c (CYTc) is a component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, involved in the transfer of electrons between complexes III and IV. Plants with CYTc deficiency show retarded growth and altered hormonal responses and metabolism. The goal of this project is to analyze global expression changes that take place as a consequence of CYTc deficiency, in order to obtain information about the processes that are involved in transducing signals from altered mitochondrial metabolism to the rest of the cell. These studies are relevant to understand the molecular mechanisms that connect mitochondrial functions with plant performance.

细胞色素c(Cytochrome c,CYTc)是线粒体呼吸链的组成成分,参与复合物III与复合物IV之间的电子传递。存在CYTc缺陷的植物会表现出生长迟缓、激素响应异常及代谢紊乱的表型。本项目的研究目标为分析CYTc缺陷所诱导的全局基因表达变化,以获取将线粒体代谢异常产生的信号转导至细胞其余部位的相关过程的信息。此类研究对于阐明连接线粒体功能与植物生长表现的分子机制具有重要意义。
