We investigated profiles of circulating sncRNAs in blood plasma of MDS patients to better understand MDS pathogenesis and to search specific RNAs applicable as potential biomarkers. Our data demonstrate that profile of circulating sncRNAs is specific in MDS and changes with the disease progression, providing rationale for potential clinical usefulness of plasma sncRNAs in MDS prognostication. However, monitoring of sncRNA levels in total plasma or in its extravesicular fraction represent distinctive snapshots of the disease and one may not be replaced by another.

本研究针对骨髓增生异常综合征(Myelodysplastic Syndromes, MDS)患者血浆中的循环小分子非编码RNA(small non-coding RNAs, sncRNAs)表达谱展开探究,旨在更深入地阐明MDS的发病机制,并筛选可作为潜在生物标志物的特异性RNA分子。研究数据表明,MDS患者体内的循环sncRNAs表达谱具有疾病特异性,且随疾病进展发生动态变化,这为血浆sncRNAs应用于MDS预后评估的潜在临床价值提供了理论依据。然而,对全血浆或其囊泡外组分(extravesicular fraction)中的sncRNA水平进行监测,分别代表了疾病状态的不同特征性快照,二者无法互相替代。
