In SO-miRNAs, a group of pre-miRNAs that overlap with intron-exon junction, the spliceosome and microprocessor complex compete on the nascent transcript regulating the production of two alternative gene products from a shared transcript. In this study, we examined the processing of human SO-miRNAs on a global basis and demonstrated that SF3B1-mediated splicing inhibition preferentially increases the production of these miRNAs.

在SO-miRNAs(一类与内含子-外显子交界区域重叠的前体微RNA(pre-miRNA))中,剪接体(spliceosome)与微处理器复合物(microprocessor complex)会在新生转录本上发生竞争,进而调控由同一共享转录本产生的两种可变基因产物的生成。本研究在全基因组层面开展了人类SO-miRNAs加工过程的系统性分析,并证实剪接因子3B亚基1(SF3B1)介导的剪接抑制可优先促进这类miRNAs的产生。
