UVSafe™ is an ongoing translational and regulatory research study, embedded in an unprecedented global platform dedicated to the safe, sustainable, and regulated use of UVA/UVB radiation.At its initial stage, the study was conceived to produce robust evidence that integrates science, public health, and regulation in a translational and replicable model, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Innovative protocols are incorporated, built from science and aimed at concrete impacts on health, work, and human dignity.UVSafe™ seeks to consolidate an international reference model, capable of guiding evidence-based public policies and sustainable regulations for the use of UVA/UVB radiation.Under the leadership of Professor Vanêssa Garcez, National Coordinator of the Executiva Nacional de Mulheres, in articulation with scientific, legislative, and social institutions, UVSafe™ aims to provide the scientific, regulatory, and social foundations for the recognition of a professional category, the generation of sustainable jobs, and the promotion of dignity at work.In addition, the study directly dialogues with the UN 2030 Agenda, contributing concretely to several Sustainable Development Goals, among them SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, with a focus on science-based professional training, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.The structural impacts of UVSafe™ highlight its transformative nature: they promote women’s empowerment and economic inclusion, emphasize the role of regulation in protecting early childhood from structural violence and inequality, address global challenges for 2030 by combating extreme poverty and expanding women’s economic inclusion, urgently and innovatively analyze the impact of informality on women’s food security, and reinforce the need to broaden women’s participation in spaces of power as a fundamental pillar of social justice.Thus, Brazil will launch the first regulatory pilot study based on open science for the safe use of UVA/UVB, at an event in Alphaville São Paulo.📌 Embargo: 11/12/2025 – 17:00 UTC (14:00 BRT).
