Iron (Fe) chlorosis is a severe problem in viticulture resulting in impaired plant development, yield loss and reduced fruit quality. Nitrogen forms (nitrate and ammonium) can play a role in promoting or mitigating Fe ddeficiency stresses. The study investigated the response of two grapevine rootstock genotypes (Fercal (Vitis. berlandieri x V. vinifera) and Couderc 3309 (V. riparia x V. rupestris)) to both N-forms in combingation with Fe deficiency. Photosynthesis of the plants were measured as well as key metabolites associated to iron mobilization were analyzed. Presented raw data have been summarized in a submitted manuscript to BMC Plant Biology.
