THE COGNITIVE BASIS OF METAPHOR IN ENGLISH LEXIS

This article examines the cognitive mechanisms behind metaphorical expressions in English vocabulary. It explores how conceptual structures shape the way speakers use language to represent abstract ideas through metaphor. The study considers the role of embodied experience, conceptual mapping, and semantic networks in the creation and understanding of metaphors.
