3D images of fossil planktonic foraminifera from the western Pacific Ocean: a database concerning two biostratigraphic events during the Early Pleistocene

Here we present planktonic foraminifera X-ray images dataset during 1.72-2.15 million years ago using Microfocus X-ray CT (MXCT) and Projection X-ray Microscopy (PXM) technologies in a sedimentary core ODP Hole 1115B (9 11'S, 151 34E, water depth 1149 m) in the Solomon Sea. The species Globigeerinoideseela fistuolsa, Trilobatus sacculifer, and Pulleniatina spp. tests were hand-picked and gently cleaned for X-ray images. In total, there are 20 individuals with 20 images are presented in this dataset.-

本数据集公开了所罗门海大洋钻探计划（Ocean Drilling Program，ODP）1115B孔（南纬9°11′，东经151°34′，水深1149米）1.72~2.15百万年前沉积岩芯中，采用微焦点X射线计算机断层扫描（Microfocus X-ray CT，MXCT）与投影X射线显微镜（Projection X-ray Microscopy，PXM）技术获取的浮游有孔虫（planktonic foraminifera）X射线影像。本次研究所涉及的物种包括Globigeerinoideseela fistuolsa、Trilobatus sacculifer以及Pulleniatina spp.，其壳体均经手工挑选并经轻柔净化后用于X射线成像。本数据集共计包含20个个体对应的20幅影像。
