Mozambique (2013): Exploring Social Marketing Mosquito Nets Feasibility among traders in Mozambique

Actually PSI/Mozambique is looking supports the MoH in the implementation of Malaria Prevention activities in the country. Primary activities implemented by PSI include the provision of Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets to pregnant women through the antenatal clinics nationwide. In 2013, PSI/Mozambique is looking into introducing a social marketing mosquito net brand with low price to respond to current unmet demand for LLINs outside of the free distribution system. Three hundred face-to-face interviews and 30 in-depth interviews were conducted among traders selling mosquito nets in the formal and informal markets of the urban and peri-urban areas of Maputo, Beira and Nampula is May, 2013.
