LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH SLANGS IN MODERN LINGUISTICS

This article explores slang as a controversial element of non-standard vocabulary in linguistics. It analyzes different scholarly views on whether slang is an independent category or synonymous with jargon and argot, and examines its historical development and etymology. The study summarizes both negative and positive evaluations of slang and proposes a working definition that emphasizes its variability, expressiveness, and context-dependent nature.

本文以俚语为研究对象，探讨其作为语言学领域中非标准词汇的一类争议性组成要素。本文分析了学界关于俚语是否属于独立范畴，抑或是行话与隐语同义词的多种学术观点，并考察了其历史发展与词源。本研究梳理了学界对俚语的正负两类评价，并提出了一则强调其变异性、表现力与语境依赖性的工作定义。
