We report here the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. Strain AM-2504, a widely studied strain producing a large range of biotechnologically-relevant molecules. The comparative analysis of its 16S rRNA sequence allowed the assignment of this Streptomyces strain to the Kasugaensis species, thus fostering an improved biochemical and functional characterization of its antibiotic products, through evolutionary comparative analyses.

本研究报道了链霉菌属未定种（Streptomyces sp.）菌株AM-2504的草图基因组序列。该菌株为被广泛研究的菌株，可合成多种具备生物技术应用价值的活性分子。通过对其16S核糖体RNA（16S rRNA）序列开展比较分析，可将该链霉菌菌株归属于春日链霉菌种（Kasugaensis species）；该分类归属的明确，进一步推动了通过进化比较分析对其抗生素产物进行更完善的生化与功能表征研究。
