Replication Data for: Moderating effect of fossil energy dependence on the mediating effect of financial development on CO2 emissions: Evidence from China's provincial panel data

Panel data for 30 Chinese provinces (i.e., excluding Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Tibet) from 2000 to 2017 comprise the basic data set for this paper. We use province-level data since provinces are the most important economic unit in China and they are the executors of the central government's regional policies. Data for the stocks of 13 major fossil fuels for each province were obtained from the China Energy Statistical Yearbook (2000-2017). Data for other variables are from provincial statistical yearbooks.

本文的基础数据集为2000年至2017年中国30个省份（即不含香港、澳门、台湾及西藏自治区）的面板数据（Panel data）。鉴于省份是中国最重要的经济单元，同时也是中央政府区域政策的执行主体，故本文选用省级层面数据。各省13种主要化石燃料的存量数据来源于《中国能源统计年鉴（2000-2017）》，其余变量数据均来自各省份统计年鉴。
