Prices and Wages in New Castile: the Construction of an Index of Real Wages, 1501-1991

Using published and unpublished data, mainly taken from central Spain and especially from Madrid, annual series of prices, wages and real wages between 1501 and 1991 have been constructed. A detailed explanation is given of the sources and procedures used in the construction of the series, and the reliability of the different adjustments is evaluated. The resulting time series clearly portray the medium and long-term trends of prices and wages in central Spain. When compared with English data, similar trends emerge.本数据集利用已发表与未发表的资料（主要采集自西班牙中部，尤以马德里地区为核心），构建了1501年至1991年间的年度物价、工资及实际工资序列。本文对构建该序列所采用的数据源与处理流程进行了详尽阐释，并对各类调整方式的可靠性展开了评估。最终得到的时间序列清晰刻画了西班牙中部地区物价与工资的中长期变动趋势。将其与英国相关数据对比后，可发现二者呈现出相似的变动特征。
