Background:Hop powdery mildew (Podosphaera macularis) is a devastating fungal pathogen that infects hop plants (Humulus lupulus), a key ingredient in the beer-making industry. This pathogen can cause significant yield losses and quality degradation in hop production worldwide, leading to economic losses for farmers and brewers. Despite its economic importance, there is still limited knowledge about the genetic basis of hop powdery mildew pathogenesis and adaptation, making it difficult to develop effective control strategies against this disease.Objective:To better understand the genetic basis of hop powdery mildew pathogenesis and adaptation, we generated a draft illumina genome assembly of P. macularis.
背景:啤酒花白粉菌(Podosphaera macularis)是一类毁灭性病原真菌,可侵染啤酒花(Humulus lupulus)——啤酒酿造产业的核心原料。该病原菌可在全球范围内引发啤酒花生产的严重减产与品质劣化,给种植户与酿酒商造成经济损失。尽管其经济重要性突出,但目前学界对啤酒花白粉菌的致病机理与适应性的遗传基础仍所知有限,因此难以开发出有效的病害防控方案。
研究目标:为深入解析啤酒花白粉菌致病与适应性的遗传基础,我们完成了P. macularis的Illumina草图基因组组装。
