National Hospital Discharge Survey, 2000

The National Hospital Discharge Survey (NHDS) collects medical and demographic information annually from a sample of hospital discharge records. Variables include patients' demographic characteristics (sex, age, race, marital status), dates of admission and discharge, status at discharge, final diagnoses, surgical and nonsurgical procedures, dates of surgeries, and sources of payment. Information on hospital characteristics such as bedsize, ownership, and region of the country is also included. The medical information is coded using the INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES, 9TH REVISION, CLINICAL MODIFICATION (ICD-9-CM).国家医院出院调查（National Hospital Discharge Survey，NHDS）每年通过医院出院记录抽样，收集医疗与人口统计学相关信息。其调查变量涵盖患者人口统计学特征（性别、年龄、种族、婚姻状况）、入院与出院日期、出院时状态、最终诊断结果、手术与非手术操作、手术日期以及医疗费用支付来源。此外，数据集还收录医院相关特征信息，包括床位规模、所有制类型以及所在国家地区等。其中医疗信息采用《国际疾病分类第9版临床修订版（INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES, 9TH REVISION, CLINICAL MODIFICATION，ICD-9-CM）》进行编码。
