Positional information plays a crucial role in embryonic pattern formation, yet its role in tooth development remains unexplored. In this study, we investigated the regional specification of lingual and buccal dental mesenchyme during tooth development. Overall design: Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data between cap and bell stage, lingual and buccal part of dental mesenchyme at cap and bell stage, and lingual and buccal part of dental mesenchyme which were cultured in vitro at cap stage. - (Cap/Bell stage)_"W" means whole tooth germ - "L" means lingual - "B" means buccal
