Effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) is studied using a combination of Flory-Huggins theory and Landau theory. An appreciable change in polarisation, tilt angle and dielectric susceptibility behaviour in the chiral smectic C ∗ phase of the smectic-A to chiral smectic-C ∗ transition has been observed for CNTs- doped FLC system. We discussed these changes by theoretical calculations followed by plotting and discussing various topologies in the phase diagrams. Theoretical results based on this model show good agreement with experiment.
本研究结合弗洛里-哈金斯理论(Flory-Huggins theory)与朗道理论(Landau theory),系统探究了碳纳米管(carbon nanotubes,CNTs)对铁电液晶(ferroelectric liquid crystal,FLC)的影响。在近晶A相向手性近晶C*相的相变过程所涉及的手性近晶C*相中,碳纳米管掺杂的铁电液晶体系的极化强度、倾斜角及介电极化率行为均出现了显著变化。本研究通过理论计算,并结合相图中多种拓扑结构的绘制与分析,对上述观测到的变化展开了讨论。基于该模型得到的理论结果与实验数据展现出良好的一致性。
