The NELL Knowledge Base is part of the "Reading Web" research project at Carnegie Mellon University, and is named NELL (Never-Ending Language Learning system). Since its launch in January 2010, the database has been running continuously, extracting factual information from hundreds of millions of web pages. To date, it has accumulated over 50 million candidate beliefs, among which 2.81 million are high-confidence factual statements. NELL carries out two core tasks every day: extracting factual information from web text, and enhancing its reading capabilities to extract information with higher accuracy.
