Environmental characteristics and leaf functional traits of Caryopteris mongholica

We selected 40 representative populations of C. mongholica, and the 40 sample sites were mainly located in northwestern China (36°06′N - 45°39′N and 96°21′E - 116°45′E), which experiences a typical temperate continental arid climate. We determined 11 leaf functional traits of Caryopteris mongholica from 40 populations， including leaf width, length, area , perimeter, aspect ratio, shape factor, specific leaf area, dry matter content, carbon , nitrogen and phosphorus content per unit mass. The data also included longitude, latitude, elevation and 17 climatic features of 40 sites.

本研究选取了40个具有代表性的蒙古莸（Caryopteris mongholica）居群，40个采样点主要分布于中国西北地区（北纬36°06′~45°39′，东经96°21′~116°45′），该区域属于典型的温带大陆性干旱气候。我们测定了40个蒙古莸居群的11项叶片功能性状，包括叶宽、叶长、叶面积、叶周长、长宽比、形状系数、比叶面积、叶片干物质含量、单位质量碳含量、单位质量氮含量及单位质量磷含量。本数据集同时涵盖40个采样点的经度、纬度、海拔信息以及17项气候特征指标。
