Modern NWI data is a significant update, including better classification, more detailed linework and higher accuracy. Modern NWI data is also standardized. This layer was created by Lauren Healey of the National Wetlands Inventory Team (NWI). Not editable or available for offline use. This is the modern NWI layer for West Virginia. The layers can be toggled on and off for comparision purposes. The modern NWI data was published to the Wetlands Mapper in 2024 and 2025 This data is maintained by Lauren Healey at the NWI team.
