This data is part of a study to understand the nature and timing of the transition from genetic to genomic phases of speciation. This specific whole genome re-sequence data set was used to measure patterns of genome differentiation between sympatric (co-occurring) Timema populations and species at different stages of the speciation continuum (that is, with different levels of reproductive isolation). This is relevant for understanding the dynamics of genome differentiation during speciation.
