Most of the people present are men in naval dress (including some in what appear to be American uniforms), but there are also some women in formal civilian clothing and a few children. Several flags are visible, plus one end of what appears to be a tent or marquee. Part of a collection relating to Frank Harold Elletson, Royal Marine Artillery. Date uncertain, but the collection is described as including: "Diary [photo scrapbook] of HMS Queen Elizabeth, January to May 1915, plus photographs c. 1918".
