Data for the Management of Prostate cancer in Africa

Prostate cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers in men and a major cause of cancer-related deaths in men, globally. In Africa, it is a cause of significant morbidity and burden to healthcare. The management of prostate cancer in Africa is unique, most patients present with advanced disease to a largely underdeveloped healthcare delivery. There are novel systemic agents that have led to improvements in prostate cancer outcomes, particularly in patients with advanced disease. Thus, the need for this scoping review of the management of prostate cancer in Africa.

前列腺癌是全球范围内男性最常见的确诊癌症之一，亦是全球男性癌症相关死亡的主要诱因。在非洲地区，前列腺癌会造成严重的发病负担，并给当地医疗保健系统带来沉重压力。非洲地区的前列腺癌诊疗工作具有鲜明特殊性：多数患者确诊时已处于疾病晚期，而当地医疗服务供给整体尚欠发达。目前已有新型系统性治疗药物可改善前列腺癌患者的预后结局，尤其针对晚期前列腺癌患者效果显著。因此，针对非洲地区前列腺癌诊疗情况开展本次范围综述（scoping review）实属必要。
