Methanol (MOH) and monomethylamine (MMA) are two typical one-carbon (C1) compounds in environments and have an important role in marine and atmospheric chemistry, cloud formation, and global climate. Fast consumption of MOH and MMA by marine microbes are the biological sinks of the two compounds. Field-based time-series incubations with the supplemental 13C-labeled MOH and MMA and isotope ratio analyses were performed. A substantial difference in the MOH- and MMA-incorporating rate and bacterial phylogenetic taxa were observed between the estuary and the South China Sea (SCS).

甲醇(Methanol,缩写MOH)与一甲胺(monomethylamine,缩写MMA)是环境中两类典型的一碳(C1)化合物,在海洋化学、大气化学、云形成及全球气候系统中具有重要作用。海洋微生物对MOH与MMA的快速消耗,是这两种化合物的生物汇。本研究开展了添加13C标记MOH与MMA的野外时序培养实验,并进行了同位素比值分析。结果显示,河口与南海(South China Sea,缩写SCS)在MOH与MMA的同化速率以及细菌系统发育类群方面均存在显著差异。
