This study aims to create a high-quality genome assembly for the Monilinia vaccinii-corymbosi fungal pathogen, the causal agent of mummy berry disease in blueberry. The data here is representative of field, greenhouse inoculation, and cultured tissue samples. The transcriptome was also sequenced to elucidate gene and isoform expression. The iso-seq reads were used for functional annotation of the assembled genome and to further understand how the fungal pathogen establishes an interaction with its blueberry host. The information from this study may be used in future breeding efforts for mummy berry disease resistance and in agricultural extension efforts that attempt to prevent disease establishment by disruption of host-pathogen interaction.
本研究旨在为蓝果链核盘菌(Monilinia vaccinii-corymbosi)构建高质量基因组组装序列,该病原菌是引发蓝莓僵果病的致病菌。本研究涵盖的样本包括田间样本、温室接种样本与离体培养组织样本,具有充分代表性。研究同时对转录组进行测序,以阐明基因及转录本异构体(isoform)的表达特征。iso-seq读段被用于已组装基因组的功能注释,并进一步解析该真菌病原菌与蓝莓宿主建立互作的分子机制。本研究所得数据可应用于后续蓝莓抗僵果病育种工作,以及通过阻断宿主-病原菌互作以防控病害发生的农业推广实践。
