Percy Watson (14)

Attached are photographs of Corporal Percy Watson, who originally enlisted with the 7th Battlion, Mancheser Regiment and then was merged into the East Lancashire Regiment towards the end of the war. The 7th Manchester Regiment was a Terattorial Regiment and as Percy was a butcher by trade, it is believed that he was the Butcher to the regiment.

Percy was born on the 27th August 1888 in Burnley to Alfred Watson and Ellen Walters. He married Bertha Lakin on the 16th November 1908 in Chorlton cum Hardy, Manchester. They had two children, Stanley, born in 1909 and Marjorie born in 1912. She is still alive but has limited memories of her father as she was six at the time of his death.

Attached are letters to his wife Bertha, including one written the day he was killed.

There is a detailed letter stating how Percy was killed, his death certificate, letters from the Commonwealth War Graves on both his burial and re burial and a very heartfelt letter written in August 1918 where he is clearly very certain that he will die in the trenches.

There are also postcards from Percy's children and his wife for his birthday. These have shrapnel holes through them as he had them on his person when he was killed. Pictures are also attached of Percy and his family

珀西于1888年8月27日出生在伯恩利，父母为阿尔弗雷德·沃森与埃伦·沃尔特斯。1908年11月16日，他在曼彻斯特乔尔顿卡姆哈迪与伯莎·莱金成婚。二人共育有两名子女：1909年出生的斯坦利，与1912年出生的玛乔丽。玛乔丽目前仍在世，但因父亲牺牲时年仅6岁，对父亲的记忆已十分模糊。

随附还有多封写给其妻子伯莎的书信，其中一封正是他牺牲当日所写。

另有一封详述珀西牺牲经过的信件、其死亡证明，英联邦战争公墓委员会（Commonwealth War Graves Commission）就其安葬与迁葬事宜发来的信函，以及一封写于1918年8月的饱含深情的家书——信中他明确表露了自己终将牺牲于战壕的预感。

还有珀西的子女与妻子寄给他的生日明信片，这些明信片留有弹片穿孔痕迹——因为珀西牺牲时正将它们贴身携带。随附资料中还包含珀西与其家人的合影。
