Perishable: Twisted sinew AZRU8-1808

Twisted Sinew, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #1808. Morris FS 4095. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. Long strand of 2S-Z sinew or possibly hide, tied in square knot. Perhaps a bowstring. Measurements: L 41.0 CM. Images: AZRU8-1808A: twisted sinew or hide, 2s-Z. Recovered from Earl Morris' excavation of Room 153-2, Aztec West Ruin. Concerning Room 153-2 Morris reports that “The refuse deposit in Room 153 was in reality a continuation of that in Room 136, just as the latter was an extension of the rubbish present in the upper level of Room 180. The only specimens from this layer are two large bowls broken and thrown away while still new and unstained by use. As mentioned in connection with Burial No. 55, Room 153 was used as a turkey coop at the same time that it was being used as a dumping place” (Morris 1928:382).

关于153-2号房间，莫里斯在报告中记载：“153号房间的垃圾堆积实则为136号房间堆积的延续，正如后者是180号房间上层垃圾堆积的延伸。该层位出土的唯一标本为两件全新未使用即被打碎丢弃的大型碗具。正如与55号墓葬相关的记述所述，153号房间在被用作垃圾倾倒场的同时，还被用作火鸡圈舍”（莫里斯，1928：382）。
