Polypodium hydriforme is an enigmatic cnidarian parasite of acipenseriforme fishes. This transcriptome was sequenced in order to confirm the cnidarian affinity of P. hydriforme as well as to facilitate the discovery of developmental genes and other candidate genes that can help us understand the evolution of this taxon.

水螅形多足虫（Polypodium hydriforme）是一类寄生于鲟形目（Acipenseriformes）鱼类的神秘刺胞动物（cnidarian）。本研究针对该物种开展转录组（transcriptome）测序，旨在确认P. hydriforme与刺胞动物的亲缘关系，同时助力发掘发育基因及其他候选基因，以帮助阐明该类群的演化历程。
