Salinity Hazard for Catchment Action Plan (CAP) Updates: Northern Rivers CMA Area - August 2012

The thirteen NSW Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs) are required to update their Catchment Action Plans (CAPs) in a process to be completed by early 2013. The CAPs are required to be "Whole of Government" in order to provide greater coherence between policies and plans as they develop strategic direction at regional levels. CAPs must align with or take into account common elements of agency activity, and require a high level of co-ordination. ;\r\nA cross agency team was employed in December 2011 to produce a salinity tool for CAP updates, as a Salinity Hazard for CAP Updates project. This project has been funded by Catchment Action NSW.;\r\nThe primary output of the Salinity Hazard for CAP Updates project is a broad scale salinity hazard spatial coverage and report for each CMA. The product referred to in this metadata statement is produced for the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority (NRCMA) for use in upgrading its Catchment Action Plan (CAP). The Northern Rivers CAP is a cabinet approved document which outlines the investment priorities and delivery targets for natural resource management (NRM) across the NRCMA area. The NRCMA is currently reviewing and upgrading the CAP which was developed in 2004-05.

新南威尔士州（New South Wales，简称NSW）的13个流域管理局（Catchment Management Authorities，简称CMAs）需按规定更新其流域行动计划（Catchment Action Plans，简称CAPs），相关工作须于2013年初前完成。流域行动计划须遵循“全政府协同”原则，以在制定区域战略方向时，提升各项政策与规划间的连贯性。此类行动计划必须契合或考量各机构活动的共性要素，且需进行高度协调配合。
2011年12月，项目组组建跨机构团队，开展“面向流域行动计划更新的盐度风险”（Salinity Hazard for CAP Updates）项目，为流域行动计划更新开发专用盐度评估工具。本项目由新南威尔士州流域行动项目（Catchment Action NSW）资助。
本项目的核心产出为覆盖各流域管理局辖区的大范围盐度风险空间数据集及配套报告。本元数据说明所关联的产品，系为北河流域管理局（Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority，简称NRCMA）开发，用于其流域行动计划的升级工作。北河流域行动计划是经内阁批准的正式文件，明确了北河流域管理局辖区内自然资源管理（Natural Resource Management，简称NRM）的投资优先级与交付目标。北河流域管理局目前正对2004-2005年制定的原流域行动计划进行评审与升级。
