Photogrammetric data of cryolab experiments, part 1
Data description: Novel cryolab experiments were prepared and executed in autumn 2022 at University of Hull, UK, by Eliisa Lotsari, Marijke de Vet, Dan Parsons, Stuart McLelland, and Brendan Murphy. The data has been used for publication, entitled "Small scale riverbank erosion experiments in freezing and thawing conditions". The data consists of GoPro (HeroBlack 10) frames at 30 seconds interval of 125 cryolab experiments. These were used for analysing bank erosion edge retreat. Also data includes Canon EOS 600D photos from 47 of the experiments, representing the range of all different temperatures. In this part 1 data set, the Canon data from experiments with 3.7% moisture conditions are provided. These were used for creating elevation models with structure from motion method. The local coordinates of the markers and also metadata of all experiments and processing outcomes are provided. Acknowledgements: The ice-covered flow measurements were initiated under the post-doctoral research project of Dr. Lotsari, funded by the Research Council of Finland (ExRIVER: grant number 267345). The work of Lotsari, including laboratory work and field work in 2022, for enabling this data was supported financially by Research Council of Finland (DefrostingRivers: grant number 338480). For funding the gathering of the moisture and temperature field data during 2017–2020, we also thank the Emil Aaltonen Foundation (project, in Finnish only: “Kohdeapuraha: Tenojokeen, Pulmankijokeen ja Kokemäenjokeen kohdistuvien tutkimusten maastomittauksista aiheutuviin matkakuluihin ajanjaksolla syksy 2016-kevät 2017”), British Society for Geomorphology (BSG, grant: “Defrosting sedimentary systems: the impacts on the evolution and material transport of high-latitude rivers”) and the Department of Geographical and Historical studies, University of Eastern Finland. We thank the Environment and Energy Institute of University of Hull for enabling the laboratory experiments during the research visit of Prof. Eliisa Lotsari in September-October 2022.
针对2017至2020年期间含水率与温度野外数据的采集工作,我们感谢埃米尔·阿尔托宁基金会(其资助项目芬兰语原文为:"Kohdeapuraha: Tenojokeen, Pulmankijokeen ja Kokemäenjokeen kohdistuvien tutkimusten maastomittauksista aiheutuviin matkakuluihin ajanjaksolla syksy 2016-kevät 2017")、英国地貌学学会(BSG,资助项目:"Defrosting sedimentary systems: the impacts on the evolution and material transport of high-latitude rivers")以及东芬兰大学地理与历史研究系提供的经费支持。
