Local villagers can take timely shading measures based on the light intensity change index data to protect crops from damage caused by excessive solar radiation.

(1) Data Collection: Real-time measurements are taken every minute via online equipment to acquire two datasets for the designated section of Jinwu Village, Jiangshan City, Quzhou Prefecture: the current light intensity data (abbreviated as A, unit: Lux) and the average light intensity data of the previous minute corresponding to the current measurement time (abbreviated as B, unit: Lux);
(2) Data Processing: The light intensity change index (abbreviated as α) is calculated using the measured current light intensity data A and the average light intensity data of the previous minute B, with the formula: α = (A - B) / B;
(3) Data Application: The value of α can be either positive or negative. When α > 0, it indicates that the current light intensity is higher than the average light intensity of the previous minute. When α < 0, it indicates that the current light intensity is lower than the average light intensity of the previous minute. By combining the magnitude of the light intensity data A, the quality of the weather can be analyzed and predicted, and early warnings for severe weather events can be issued.
