RNA sequencing reveals a natural product derivative regulates gene expression in 5xFAD mice

The project aimed to find novel compounds for AD. We discovered that P, a natural product derived analog, improved learning, memory, anxiety, and social deficits in 5xFAD mice. It reduced Abeta accumulation, cellular senescence, neuroinflammation, and neuronal loss. RNA seq suggested P regulated the nervous and immune systems. In conclusion, the project highlight the potential clinical application of P as an innovative and multi-target drug for AD treatment.

本项目旨在为阿尔茨海默病（Alzheimer's Disease，AD）筛选新型化合物。我们发现，天然产物衍生类似物P可改善5xFAD小鼠的学习、记忆、焦虑及社交功能缺陷。该物质可减少β淀粉样蛋白（Abeta）聚集、细胞衰老、神经炎症与神经元丢失。RNA测序（RNA-seq）结果显示，P可调控神经系统与免疫系统。综上，本项目凸显了P作为一种创新性多靶点治疗药物用于阿尔茨海默病临床治疗的巨大应用潜力。
