<strong>Overview</strong> This is a set of data collected with a CERN@school Timepix detector suspended above one of the notebooks belonging to William Crookes. It was collected at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, who hold Crookes' notebooks in their archive, as part of Helen Arney's "BIG SCIENCE" event held on Tuesday 18th June 2013. <strong>Experimental Setup</strong> Please see the included photo, "ri_crookes_notebook_setup.jpg", for an illustration of how the detector and notebook were arranged. The desk seen is that of the Royal Institution's Lecture Theatre. This data was collected before the "BIG SCIENCE" event itself, and did not form part of "QUARKGAZING LIVE". <strong>Detector Settings</strong> 600 frames were obtained with an acquisition time of 1 second (i.e. this data represents a 10 minute sample). The bias voltage of the detector was set to 18V; other settings may be found in the accompanying .dsc files. <strong>Data Analysis</strong> For some example Python code that may be used to analyse this data, please visit the CERN@school GitHub repository linked to below.<br><i>The author would like to thank H.
