The achievement of a circular economy requires bioproduct production from waste feedstocks with an efficient conversion rate and high selective recovery. Here we address both challenges by applying cattle manure as waste feedstock for medium-chain carboxylic acids (MCCAs) production and applying a novel oleogel-extraction technology for subsequent MCCA recovery.

循环经济(circular economy)的实现,需要以废弃物原料生产生物基产品,并实现高效的转化速率与高选择性的回收过程。本研究针对上述两项挑战,采用牛粪作为废弃物原料生产中链羧酸(medium-chain carboxylic acids, MCCAs),并通过一种新型油凝胶萃取技术完成后续的MCCA回收。
