These videos present the deformation behavior of a graphene nanoribbon placed on a graphene substrate and subjected to direct edge pulling as well as strain transfer from the substrate. Each atom is modeled as a point mass, and covalent bonds are represented using one-dimensional Euler–Bernoulli beam elements. The videos serve as supplementary material to the manuscript “Investigating the sliding behavior of graphene nanoribbons” (DOI: https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2508.15587).
