Adlay smut is a biotrophic fungi that seriously affect grain yield and qunlity in adlay. In this study, we report the first high-quality genome sequence of Ustilago coicis assembled de novo with a N50 length of 1032,894 bp, and genome size 20.199059 Mb, containing an estimated 6,476 coding genes. Also, the comparative genomes of Ustilago coicis, Ustilago bromivora, Ustilago maydis, Ustilago hordei, Sporisorium reilianum, Sporisorium scitamineum and Sporisorium graminicola were analyzed.

薏苡黑粉菌(Adlay smut)是一类专性寄生真菌,会严重影响薏苡的籽粒产量与品质。本研究首次报道了薏苡黑粉菌(Ustilago coicis)的高质量基因组序列,该序列通过从头组装获得,其Contig N50长度为1032894 bp,基因组总大小为20.199059 Mb,预估包含6476个编码基因。此外,本研究还对薏苡黑粉菌、雀麦黑粉菌(Ustilago bromivora)、玉米黑粉菌(Ustilago maydis)、大麦黑粉菌(Ustilago hordei)、高粱轴黑粉菌(Sporisorium reilianum)、甘蔗鞭黑粉菌(Sporisorium scitamineum)以及禾谷轴黑粉菌(Sporisorium graminicola)开展了比较基因组学分析。
