CO2 fixing microorganisms play a crucial role in carbon sequestration in forest soils, but little is known about the vertical zone differences in their CO2-fixing potential and the influencing factors. Here, in the soils at three altitudes (600 m, 1200 m, 1500 m) and three depths (0-15 cm, 15-30 cm, 30-45 cm) of Jiugong Mountain, we quantified CO2 fixation potential through a 13C-CO2 labelling experiment and identified the functional microorganisms and metabolic pathways using metagenomics.
固碳微生物(CO2-fixing microorganisms)在森林土壤碳封存过程中发挥关键作用,但目前学界对其固碳潜力的垂直分层差异及相关影响因素尚缺乏深入认知。本研究以九宫山三处海拔(600米、1200米、1500米)及三个土层深度(0-15厘米、15-30厘米、30-45厘米)的土壤为研究对象,通过13C-CO2标记实验量化其固碳潜力,并利用宏基因组学(metagenomics)技术鉴定功能微生物与代谢通路。
