Lifestyle, Infertility, Fertility, and Evaluation (LIFE) Study

The purpose of this study is to provide a reference profile of small extracellular RNAs in body fluids. These samples were originally obtained in a study that had a different purpose. The purpose of the original study was to establish a data and biological specimen repository to advance future research into male reproductive health and urologic health. Semen from semen analyses, as part of standard of care at the Center for Reproductive Health, was collected and stored in a tissue bank for future research purposes. These samples and associated clinical data (including age, race, education level, medical history and diet, environmental exposures and laboratory values, fertility diagnosis and infertility treatments) will help researchers understand any urological disorders and male reproductive health issues.]]> For inclusion in the study, the participants had to be males over the age of 18 presenting for clinical evaluation or semen analysis in the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health or UCSF Department of Urology.]]>本研究旨在提供体液中小分子细胞外RNA（small extracellular RNAs）的参考图谱。本次研究使用的样本最初取自一项研究目的迥异的既往研究。该既往研究的核心目标为建立数据与生物样本库，以推动未来男性生殖健康与泌尿健康领域的相关研究进展。作为生殖健康中心标准诊疗规范的组成部分，精液分析所获取的精液样本被收集并存入组织库，用于后续研究。上述样本及配套临床数据（涵盖年龄、种族、教育水平、病史与饮食情况、环境暴露史、实验室检测指标、生育诊断结果及不孕不育治疗方案等）将助力研究人员深入解析各类泌尿疾病与男性生殖健康相关问题。 本研究的纳入标准为：年龄满18周岁的男性，且需前往加州大学旧金山分校（University of California, San Francisco, UCSF）生殖健康中心或泌尿外科就诊，并接受临床评估或精液分析。
