VPRS 8342 Marriage Register

This series consists of the hardcopy Marriage Registers created from 1853.Registration entries were recorded in the Register in numeric order by registration number and comprised:-- the surnames and given names of the bride and the groom-- the occupations of both the parties to the marriage at the time of the marriage-- the usual residence of both parties to the marriage at the time of the marriage-- the date and place of marriage-- the dates and places of birth of bride and groom-- the parents' names including the mothers' family surnames of both parties to the marriage-- the signatures of both parties to the marriage, two witnesses to the marriage and the celebrant who performed the ceremony.

本系列数据集为1853年起编制的纸质婚姻登记册（Marriage Registers）。登记条目按照登记编号的数字顺序录入登记册，包含以下内容：
—— 新娘与新郎的姓氏及全名
—— 婚姻缔结时双方的职业
—— 婚姻缔结时双方的惯常居所
—— 婚姻举办的日期与地点
—— 新娘与新郎的出生日期及出生地
—— 双方父母的姓名，其中包含双方母亲的娘家姓氏
—— 婚姻双方、两名证婚人及主持婚礼仪式的司仪的签名。
