Performance of a Wearable Movement Tracking System in Detecting Hypomobility in Acute Ischemic Cerebrovascular Events

This study was a prospective investigation designed to evaluate the performance of a movement tracking system. The device was developed by the School of Electrical Engineering at the International University (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City). Data were collected at the Department of Stroke Care, Can Tho Central General Hospital. Patients were included if they met the following criteria: Age 18+, diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack within 24 hours of symptom onset, confirmed by clinical examination and neuroimaging [Computerized Tomography Scan (CT scan) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)], and good functional status prior to the current event. Patients were excluded if they had conditions preventing the use of movement tracking devices on both wrists, concomitant head or spinal injuries, movement abnormalities unrelated to stroke, alcohol consumption within 24 hours prior to participation, or use of medications affecting movement or consciousness.
