This dataset compiles the headcounts and proportional shares of social workers serving in Switzerland's 26 cantonal parliaments and the federal parliament (National Council and Council of States) as of the reference date of 1 January 2024, and conducts comparative analyses with the headcounts and proportional shares of other occupational groups including legal professionals, farmers, and teachers. Occupational data is sourced from cantonal government yearbooks or official parliamentary websites, and was self-declared by parliamentarians.
