We identified two different subsets of macrophages in visceral adipose tissue. These two subsets were transcriptomically different. We observed that C3CR1-low CCR2-low macrophages are transcriptomically different after myocardial infarction (MI). Overall design: We sorted CX3CR1-high CCR2-high and CX3CR1-low and CCR2-low macrophages from visceral adipose tissue and blood monocytes from mice in the steady state, and CX3CR1-low and CCR2-low macrophages from visceral adipose tissue of mice with MI or sham surgery directly in RNA extraction buffer (Applied Biosystems Pico Pure Kit for mRNA extraction) and performed RNA-seq analysis.
