Zhuzihu Area, an important recreational site within Yangmingshan National Park, has long been subjected to varying degrees of human disturbance, and has undergone afforestation and agricultural practices, resulting in diverse plant resources. In this study, a total of 35 10 × 10 m² sample plots were established to survey the plant resources in Zhuzihu Area, recording the names and diameter at breast height (DBH) of woody plants, as well as the names and coverage of ground cover plants. A total of 476 plant species belonging to 338 genera and 142 families were documented across all sample plots. Owing to human disturbance and disparate successional stages of vegetation, three forest types can be categorized: Acer serrulatum forest type, Cryptomeria japonica forest type, and Aralia decaisneiana - Machilus thunbergii forest type. Except for Cryptomeria japonica, most dominant tree species display a reverse J-shaped size-class structure, suggesting that in situ population regeneration is feasible, and Cryptomeria japonica will gradually be replaced by species including Machilus thunbergii, Machilus zuihoensis, Ficus erecta var. beecheyana, Prunus campanulata, Hydrangea chinensis, Diospyros morrisiana, and eventually succeed into Phoebe-type secondary forests.
