抗生素耐药性的出现与传播正严重威胁全球公共健康与经济发展,抗生素抗性污染全球化现象已经初步显现。研究发现临床上抗生素抗性会在环境菌群间进一步迁移、转化和扩散,最终导致环境微生物成为各种抗生素抗性基因(Antibiotic Resistance Genes, ARGs)的天然储存库。环境中的ARGs具有基因类污染物独有的“接力式”的复制、传播过程,同时可以像传统化学污染物一样以大气、洋流、鸟类和其它动物迁徙为载体远距离迁移扩散到偏远地区,然而关于极地环境中ARGs的报道较少。与其他区域相比,极地是对全球气候环境变化响应最为显著和敏感的地区之一,并且环境特殊,受人类活动干扰较小,因此是追踪ARGs环境生态行为及地球化学过程的理想区域。
本数据为第35次南极考察长城站ARGs调查数据,对了解调查区域内ARGs污染程度具有重要科学意义。样品获取时间为2018年12月20日至12月31日之间,考察介质包括土壤和沉积物等。
The emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance are severely threatening global public health and economic development, and the globalization of antibiotic resistance pollution has initially manifested. Studies have shown that clinical antibiotic resistance can further migrate, transform, and spread among environmental microbial communities, ultimately enabling environmental microorganisms to serve as natural reservoirs of various Antibiotic Resistance Genes (ARGs). ARGs in the environment exhibit relay-style replication and transmission processes unique to genetic pollutants, and similar to traditional chemical pollutants, they can be transported and diffused over long distances to remote areas via the atmosphere, ocean currents, bird migrations and other animal movements. However, there are relatively few reports on ARGs in polar environments. Compared with other regions, polar regions are among the most notable and sensitive areas responding to global climate and environmental changes. Owing to their unique environments and minimal human disturbance, polar regions represent ideal sites for investigating the environmental ecological behaviors and geochemical processes of ARGs. This dataset comprises ARGs survey data collected from the Great Wall Station during the 35th Antarctic Expedition, which holds significant scientific value for assessing the level of ARGs pollution within the surveyed area. Samples were collected between December 20 and December 31, 2018, and the surveyed substrates include soil, sediments and other matrices.
