EMAP Alivas Canyon - LA45000 Unit 21, 1998

The following report summarizes the results of the excavation of Unit 21, a habitation room at LA 45000, Avilas Canyon Village. This is a Classic Mimbres site which is situated atop the north ridge of Avilas Canyon, a southern tributary of the Palomas drainage in the eastern Mimbres region. Excavation was carried out by graduate and undergraduate students during the 1998 field season, under the direction of Margaret Nelson and Michelle Hegmon, directors of the Eastern Mimbres Archaeological Project (EMAP).

本报告概述了阿维拉斯峡谷村（Avilas Canyon Village）LA 45000遗址21号居住单元的发掘成果。该遗址属于经典明布雷斯（Classic Mimbres）文化遗址，坐落于阿维拉斯峡谷北岭；阿维拉斯峡谷地处明布雷斯东部区域，是帕洛马流域（Palomas drainage）的南部支流。本次发掘由明布雷斯东部考古项目（Eastern Mimbres Archaeological Project, EMAP）负责人玛格丽特·纳尔逊（Margaret Nelson）与米歇尔·赫格蒙（Michelle Hegmon）指导，于1998年野外发掘季由研究生及本科生共同完成。
