Foot-and-mouth disease virus serotype A complete genome sequence from Kenya in 2016

We report the near-complete genome of a foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) serotype A, topotype Africa, isolate collected from bovine vesicular epithelium from Kenya in 2016. This novel sequence updates knowledge of FMDV diversity in Eastern Africa and has important implications for FMDV epidemiology and molecular analyses.

本研究报道了一株血清型为A型、拓扑型为非洲型的口蹄疫病毒（foot-and-mouth disease virus, FMDV）的近乎完整基因组，该分离株于2016年从肯尼亚的牛水疱上皮组织中采集得到。这一新的序列更新了学界对东非口蹄疫病毒多样性的认知，对口蹄疫病毒的流行病学研究与分子分析具有重要意义。
