MODIS/TERRA MOD13A2 Vegetation Indices 16-Day L3 Global 1km Version 6

The MODIS Vegetation Indices Version 6 product provides a Vegetation Index (VI) value at a per pixel basis. There are 2 primary vegetation layers. The algorithm for this product chooses the best available pixel value from all the acquisitions from the 16 day period. The criteria used is low clouds, low view angle and the highest NDVI/EVI value. The first is the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), which is referred to as the continuity index to the existing National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (NOAA-AVHRR) derived NDVI. The second vegetation layer is the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), which has improved sensitivity over high biomass regions. 第一类为归一化差值植被指数（NDVI），该指数可作为美国国家海洋和大气管理局-先进甚高分辨率辐射计（NOAA-AVHRR）衍生NDVI序列的连续性接续指标。第二类为增强型植被指数（EVI），其在高生物量区域具备更优异的探测灵敏度。
