Data and Supplementary Materials for "The Complexity–Capability Paradox: How Decision-Making Capacity Conditions Claim Management Performance"

This repository contains the de-identified analytical data, codebook, supplementary tables, figures, and reproducibility materials supporting the manuscript “The Complexity–Capability Paradox: How Decision-Making Capacity Conditions Claim Management Performance.” The study examines whether decision-making capacity conditions the longitudinal association between project complexity and claim management performance. The analytical design comprises 45 industrial and infrastructure projects observed across nine quarterly waves, yielding 390 project-wave observations and 345 adjacent-wave transitions. Project complexity was assessed through a nine-domain architecture, decision-making capacity through five project-level capability dimensions, and claim management performance through five lifecycle dimensions. The deposited materials document cohort formation, respondent-panel continuity, equal-side aggregation, measurement diagnostics, the primary adjacent-wave model, dimension-specific analyses, between-project and within-project contrasts, robustness tests, collinearity diagnostics, and administrative claim-record triangulation. Commercial project names, legal organisation names, direct respondent identifiers, and the identity crosswalk have been removed or retained under restricted access. Public files are disclosure-controlled and intended to support research transparency, methodological verification, and appropriate academic reuse. The unperturbed confidential files remain with the research team and may be considered for restricted verification subject to confidentiality requirements.
