Waterbird count data for Lake 2, Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary

This data contains bird count data of different species of waterbirds observed during the year 2018-2019. The data was collected bi-monthly. All waterbirds spanning the lake were attempted to count with the help of a field binocular (10x50) and digital camera. Standard field guides were used to identify waterbirds. Additionally, main feeding habit and the lake use pattern (residence pattern) is provided. The main feeding habit and lake use pattern were understood with field observation and with the help of literature survey. The data was collected as a part of PhD work to understand nutrient loading by waterbirds in the lake.

本数据集包含2018-2019年间观测得到的不同种类水鸟的数量统计数据。该数据以双月为频次采集。研究人员借助10×50规格的野外双筒望远镜与数码相机，对全湖范围内的所有水鸟开展计数工作，并采用标准野外鸟类图鉴完成种类鉴定。此外，数据集还提供了水鸟的主要摄食习性与湖泊利用模式（居留模式），上述两类特征均通过野外观测结合文献调研得以明确。本数据集作为博士研究工作的一部分采集所得，旨在探究湖泊中水鸟介导的营养负荷问题。
